Make a referral

Referring a young person is simple — and it works

We accept referrals from ACT Policing, schools, government agencies, community organisations, and from families themselves. Every referral is reviewed by our program team and matched to the right support.

How it works

1

Tell us about the young person. The form takes about five minutes. Not sure which program fits? Leave it to us — matching is our job.

2

A program coordinator gets back to you. They will contact you to discuss fit, timing and consent.

3

Intake and engagement. We meet the young person and their family, agree goals together, and keep referrers in the loop throughout.

If a young person is in immediate danger, call 000. Canberra PCYC programs are structured supports, not a crisis service.

Prefer to talk it through first? Call our Community Services team on (02) 6296 7822, or see the full list of programs.

Referral enquiry

This is a website concept. This form does not send and no referral will be received. To make a real referral today, call Canberra PCYC on (02) 6296 7822. If a young person is in immediate danger, call 000.

Nothing has been sent — this is a concept demonstration. On the production site, this is where a referrer would see their enquiry confirmed and be told when to expect a response. To make a real referral today, call (02) 6296 7822.

Canberra PCYC is a registered charity. Referral information is handled in line with our privacy obligations.

Who refers to us

You do not need to be a professional to refer

Most referrals come through ACT Policing, Child and Youth Protection Services, schools, justice agencies and community organisations. Families refer directly too, and always have.

For agencies and schools

If you work with a young person who would benefit from structured support, send the enquiry and a coordinator will work through fit and timing with you. We keep referrers informed throughout, because a referral that disappears into a service is no use to the person who made it.

For families

If you are worried about your own child, you can contact us yourself. You do not need a professional to make the referral for you, and you do not need to know which program you are asking for.
